CLEANING
MANUAL CLEANING – Cleaning of instruments is absolute necessary before disinfection and sterilisation process, because any foreign material on instrument may interfere with effectiveness of these processes. Use pH neutral detergent solution to clean instruments (if needed use a soft brush to remove any organic build up or any other foreign material). Hinges or joints, locks, serrations, and rough surface need special attention, since corrosion can start very quickly at these locations on an instrument. Do not use abrasive powders or steel wool to clean as such things can easily deteriorate instruments surface and chance of corrosion will increase.
Use distilled water to rinse the instruments thoroughly, then with a hot air blower or lint-free cloth carefully dry them to a bone dry condition.
Immediate after use of instrument, all instruments should be soaked or rinsed with distilled water to prevent drying of organic material (e.g. blood) and to soften or remove unwanted material from the instruments.
ULTRASONIC CLEANING – The most common type of mechanical or automatic cleanser is ultrasonic cleanser. We recommend this type of cleaning after each use.
Use only cleaning solutions recommended for stainless steel. Change the solution frequently and always use distilled water. Heat water to 65deg celsius, use a separate stainless steel container to heat, if your unit does not have an automatic built-in water heater. Place instruments in container as they do not touch each other. After ultrasonic cleaning, Firstly rinse each instrument under running water and then rinse in distilled water.
Dry instruments to a bone dry condition with a hot air blower or lint-free cloth. Visually check and inspect if all instruments have dried entirely and if there is any unwanted material is still on any instrument before returning it to storage.
STERILIZATION
All instruments must be cleaned before sterilisation.
Use silicone caps to protect instrument tips. Do not use regular rubber or plastic caps.
Steam autoclaving, chemical disinfectants and ethylene oxide gas, can be use to sterilised stainless steel and titanium instruments. We recommend to use ethylene oxide gas to sterile as it is most effective method. Excess steam autoclaving and use of chemical disinfectants, can damage instruments if instrument is not clean properly.
Please check with your respective health authorities for details of each sterilisation processes.
